I want to upgrade my acer laptop's current CPU from (Celeron M 530 1.73 Ghz single core) to Core 2 Duo Mobile T5500 1.66Ghz dual core. But the problem is the c2d has a 34W TDP while the Celeron has 30W TDP & a technician recommended that I'll replace the stock cpu fan with a faster spinning fan to compensate the additional heat dessipated by c2d. I think it's hard to find a replacement for laptop cpu fan nowadays. Can I continue with c2d or shall I stick to Pentium dual core Mobile T2080 1.60Ghz instead??(it has a 31W TDP) so that I'll not change my existing fan. Thanks for any reply.
I'm confused with the CPUZ reading of my laptop's mainboard-(Hewlett-Packard 30C6 78.10 with Intel i943/940GML Chipset Rev.03) while it's integrated graphics chipset says its: Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family Rev.3 256mb. Do these chipset belong to 945 Family or are they the same? Can my motherboard support up to 667mhz FSB processors for my future upgrade? Thanks.. |

| 34W TDP vs. 30W TDP.. just do it I'd say. Are you sure the newer processor will work in your machine? |

For you Acer laptop T5500 will not fit because it is socket M and you have Socket P. See difference in other topic. You have to search Socket P Core 2 Duo CPUs but I cann't tell you what max FSB your laptop supports. You haven't worry about TDP but only socket type and FSB and in some cases processor manuf. process.
