The print is mostly missing on this D2716 as it was stamped to close to the end of the chip but on the lower front is marked ETC. Could this stand for EuroTechnique or is it most likely something else?

could be ETG?

quite often early eproms are are stamped with a marking to denote what it has been programmed with.. so could be an acronym for anything
could be an acronym for a small supplier.. but definately not Euro Techniques

bit more professional than hand writing on a label
but not as fancy as having professional printed labels Laughing

only way to know what it means is actually seeing the board it came out of.. rare knowledge as they are often already removed.
