i7 sandy bridge vs dual quad core xeon

Hi guys, I do a lot of Xen virtual machine hosting, right now I am running 30 different operating systems on a dual quad core xeon machine. But according to passmark website, the new i7 is more powerful than 2x quad core xeon's? If this is true, I may just go with one of these instead of wasting money on two xeons. How would I find out how these two compare with an application such as this?
