I have LGA 775 socket P4 working CPU. On the face of it only
"Intel Confidential"
Costa Rica
some nos ending with 2M
and serial No.
is mentioned
However the CPU-Z states it to be Pentium Extreme 3.733 GHz/2M/1066 'ES'
That heat Sink Fan that came along with this CPU is a heavy duty copper heat sink in the center of Aluminum fins.

I wish to know from the Learned members of this August Forum if this is actually an 'engineering sample' -as told to me by the seller. What could be the price of this CPU? I actually paid Rs. 6300/- around USD 140 that too after finding that P4 EE 965 is being sold on eBay.com for US$ 220 by a an overseas dealer.
TIA

Yes, it's an engineering sample. Some sellers do list Pentium EE 965 for $200+, but nobody buys them at that price. Selling price of this CPU is about $125 - $135.

Thanks a lot, Gennadiy,
I'm glad I did not pay more. Its only my inquisitiveness and jest to learn & try new things that I bought this CPU. I wanted to buy one Asus P5WD2-E mobo but could not bid recently on eBay due to restriction. I'm so enticed by the features of the board that I'm just looking for an opportunity to have one. God willing some American brother will help me out in that . Just a few days back P5WD2-E with 4GB RAM, 3.4/4m/800 CPU and heat sink fan along with all its acc. went for US$ 110. I could swap this CPU for that set but due to my location/registration I couldn't contact the seller. Some policies of eBay.in seems to be stupid. Whats harm in letting a buyer contact the seller for removing the restriction (may be due to shipping internationally) I bought this CPU from a total stranger a Nigerian, without even testing it and Rs. 6300 is a big amount in India. I strongly believe "For with the same measure that ye mate withal, shalt be measured to you again.
Thanks again.

Price is imho to high and have relatively bad ratio price/performance. It is only used to upgrade old PCs where Core 2 Duo/Quad isn't supported. For that price you can buy Core i3 or i5 with less power consumption and much higher performance.
