hey i have a P35_Neo2-FR

www(.)cpu-upgrade(.)com(/)mb-MSI/P35_Neo2-FR___FIR(.)html (remove )()()()

with 4gb ram 800mhz

currenlty running a e8400

i want to know what cpu (no extremes) is the best cpu, or is it better to upgrade the ram, or both with the new cpu?

What applications you are using where you are getting to slow result ? E8400 is 3,00 GHz CPU which is one of the fastest from dual cores. 4GB of DDR2 is enough for most applications today.

If you expect extra boost than change platform to quad or six core cpus on newer sockets like 1366, 1155, AM3.

Performance not only depends on CPU and RAM - everything must works on good chipset too.

This java bot stress both cores at 100% ? or only one ?
I'm not an expert in programmable software but in 64bit environment you should check how AMDs with top chipsets are working.
