Hello friends!
Hope you are all keeping in good health Smile
Last friday (06/04) I'd bought a QX9650 ES(EU80569XJ080NL) and a Q3AL ES- a Engineering sample processor through a known source for a good deal ($70 approx) to test applications/games. I was surfing the internet for suitable board and I was impressed with DP45SG which said it was compatible with QX9650 so, I bought one. I've got a situation here and I'm looking for help. Problem now is, soon after the system boots it gives a one line message saying the processor is not compatible or some line saying of that sought (I am not able to recollect exact words in those lines). This Rig (Configuration is mentioned below...) works perfectly when I replace this QX9650 (EU80569XJ080NL) with Intel core 2 Quad Q8400(YorkField).:-/

Now,
Please help me to fix this problem. Neither I can return back the processor nor the board, I'm stuck :'( I would really.....truely!!!!!! appreciate if somebody would help to make the qx9650 OEM work with Intel's DP45SG mobo and Help me in choosing a economoical board that would work perfectly with Q3AL).

Cheers!
Arun.

If you've read your board supports your specific processor, then it "should" work.
I'm not savvy when it comes to your specific motherboard, but 2 out of 3 links when googling your board don't seem very favorable (the 2nd link, I quote: "Intel DP45SG (most frusterating MOBO ever)".

Have you done some background reading on your specific motherboard?

Do you have latest BIOS version ? If not try and update.

Intel do not like when their ES chips are used in user-end desktops so ES chips can be locked by any BIOS version on any new Intel boards.

If you want to return CPU then I would like to buy that chip for 70 USD.

Thanks for your reply guys! I appreciate it!
@tetrium: I did but apart from that I enquired with my friends, majority among them voted for the board. One of them was working in Intel, this made me go for that board. I checked out with one of my friend and he said that this ES processor works with x38 and G41 chipset. I'll try that today....

@Marcin: I'm sorry I cannot sell this processor before testing. Thats my profession. And If I have to sell it it would not be definetly for $70 Wink I dont keep processors after testing,I normally sell it and make business out of it. I'll definetly keep you posted. Smile

ES chips works on almost all non-Intel, non-OEM boards where production field chips are supported. I would bet for it that chip will work even on P31.

Any suggestions on model/make? Choosing a right board for Q3AL would help me test on graphic oriented games like mafia2,MOPHA (Medal of honour-airbourne)......cheers!

Suggestion is above. There is no board with support Intel Confidential chip certificate. DIY and choose any not OEM, not Intel board which support production field Q9650.
