|
|
Hello.
I got some nice PowerPC processors during the last days (a Motorola XPC750PRX333PB, soldered on a pcb module (Motorola XPC750HIP333CK) for a PowerMac G3 and an IBM PPC604e2PE233dE1). So I watched at my favourite CPU identification page - and I recognized, that there is not really much written about PowerPC processors. I only found an identification list for the PowerPC 603 processors.
Does anyone know a page, where is described, what each letter of the part number means? I am especially interested in the PowerPC 750 identification (also, because the PPC750 mentioned above has one partnumber for the "core" and one for the module where the "core" is soldered on), but also in other PowerPC cpus (from the 601 up to the 970, from both manufacturers IBM and Motorola).
Is there any site where I can find some more info? Is it possible to integrate such an identification page on cpu-world.com?
Best regards, Xaar. _________________ Sorry for my bad English - I'm working on it!

Datasheets are your friend, IBM still has some listed on their site.
and freescale has some for the Motorola parts.
Many of the part numbers are not specifically listed (especially apple specific ones, since they were...Apple specific)
Modules often have a different number then the actual CPU on them, as the modules are made by third parties (you will often find a module with a lower speed listed then the cpu on it is spec'd at, Apple did this a lot to try to control heat) _________________ New for 2025!
