I have a Dell dimension XPS-T550 with a P3/550/512/100/2.0V Slot1.

I recently got hold of a P3/733/256/133/1.65V also Slot1

Can I replace the old processor with the faster one? I can see
the bus speed and voltage is different, and thought I should ask around before trying this.

thanks

you should be able to drop it in, but id check to see if you can drop the voltage down to 1.65. the chip would probably work fine, but worst case scenario it would run at 100mhz fsb (if the motherboard doesnt support 133) and would thusly run at 550mhz (100*5.5) ..

check with dell to see if your board supports a 133mhz fsb and if you can drop the voltage.
