I want to install a midrange 1gb gddr3 radeon 5570, replacing my ageing nvidia geforce 8400gs video card on my asus p5kpl-am epu motherboard with a pentium dual core e5200 2.5 ghz.( I have 2gigs of DDR2-800) Some of my friends suggested to upgrade my cpu to a much higher clock speed (probably around 2.8ghz) to fully enjoy the performance of my new card since a 2.5ghz clock speed in their opinion can't produce extra juice when faced with latest titles. Since I have a limited budget, can i go with the video card upgrade instead? pls help..thanks.

Definitely go to new VGA 5570. Changing CPU on old 8400GS will not bring visible higher performance. You have not so bad CPU which with better VGA will show you what still can do Wink

If you are using XP then 2 GB are OK for most games if you are using W7 or worse Vista then look around for additional about 2 GB of RAM.
