Edit >> just popped the heat-sink off the fake.. the surface has been completely ground and new markings engraved in the ceramic

Hard to tell, high-res of the second photo will help.
Not sure but bet on the left to be a fake.

Agree on the left one, the cap is also not soldered straight.

Left is definitely fake:
wrong "4" and "1" letters, wrong apostrophes and suspicious (M) and (C).

you haven't seen enuf to realise intel does put heat-sinks & printing on crooked Laughing Laughing

on a side note.. not sure if a fluke.. but first one where the die date fits in with production date.
I have logged about 1100 Pentiums (600 which are mine) which i use for reference

yes left one is fake
beside the grinded egde the printings is of bad quality.

The title of the thread is "best Pentium fake i have seen" so the fake cpu should be the right one.

The right one pentium completely looks normal therefore it is the best Pentium fake, right?

It seems nothing fake could escape from your sight.

I know there must be some fakes in my pentium collection. but I still have no time or energy to pick them out one by one.
