McAfee Antivirus interferes with the normal functioning of the surveillance software used by the Viewgate DVR card. It detects files installed and used by the program as 'threats' and deletes / cleans them.

What is a better antivirus to use for this software?

Hi,
I recommend :

1) Microsoft Essentials - free antivir for legal (licenced) MS OS
2) AVG Free Edition (from my experience almost same good as not free Kaspersky)

I'm pretty fond of Avast Free AntiVirus: Fast, Free and low on resources. I've had several issues with AVG (bluescreens, non booting pc's etc) in the past.

Dunno about the MS essentials but it could have the advantage it updates through windows update.

MS Essential do not updates by WU - that simple program have separated source of new virus definitions.

AVAST Professional I have used 2-4 years ago - I completely not recommend it. Maybe that was only in the past and new version is much better. I had a bad experience so I do not coming back to it.

My black list is : Norton, Panda, Avast
White list : Kaspersky, NOD, AVG, MS Essentials and I can risk and add Avira
