Hello What is the Fastest FC-PGA1 CPU??? I have Scott Mullers Upgrading and reparing pc's and there are 7 1000MHz CPu's and a 1100MHz the 1100MHz chip is only a 100 MHz FSB though. it is to be used in a SMP M/B so a chip optimised for SMP will be Best one 1GHz chip is a 7.5 Mutiplier and one is 10x i assume the 7.5x is cooler, or could be overclocked better?????? the 10x Mtuiplied chip is a 100MHz FSB though???

So i really want the fastest Chip's that are compatible. My M/B is

You responded to your question Smile The fastest FC-PGA is 1100 MHz Pentium III SL5QW. The fastest FC-PGA2 is probably 1133 MHz with 133 MHz FSB.

133 MHz FSB processor will be faster at the same speed. At the same time if you want to bump up FSB to overclock the processor then 1000/100 processor may be better. If the maximum FSB of your motherboard is 133 MHz, then you potentially can overclock 1000/100 to 1330 MHz, while you can't get the 1000/133 processor any faster (unless you have engineering sample in which case you can increase the multiplier).

I think the fastest FC-PGA2 cpu is 1400mhz, it comes in Tualatin form ( either celeron with 256k cache or Pentium III-S with 512k). Depending on the voltage, you can use it in a Socket 370 motherboard. I THINK Very Happy

You're right. I should've mentioned that those are the fastest Coppermine processors.
