very nice!
May I ask they are from your exclusive collection or just some spare ones? _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

These are from my personal collection. I collected these chips years ago when I was writing the Collector's Guide for Vintage Intel Microchips.
I have been too busy the last few years to really enjoy them so I have decided to make them available to other collectors.
I am also getting older and I fear that if something were to happen to me that my collection might end up in a dumpster.
My collection is too important to allow that to happen. My chips belong with those who understand their historical significance.
I have well over a thousand early rare chips I will be listing on EBAY over the next year or so in no particular order.
It's going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some collectors to obtain best condition examples of some extremely rare chips.
Enjoy:) |

Wow I am both saddend and happy at the same time. I am sad because you are giving up youre collection, but I am happy that you are offering them to people who understand the impact and the changes that have come to our way of living since the little invention of the CPU.
And as I do have several of the chips as you I will be interested in seeing what the values on them have become in recent times.
You may even be surprised at what some of them will go for these days. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

more likely would be picked up cheap in an estate auction for $10 then sold on ebay.
Price would depend on whether they have a copy of you guide on hand
Been a few nice chips come up that way lately.. guess people who initially used these early chips are getting on to that age
Are you going to pass the banner to John (Mr Culver) with updating the guide?
Especially as a few new examples have appeared over the last year.
I do actually have a chip coming.. not listed in the guide which will be a nice addition in the next update _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

I have been saving info for a new edition of the guide. I have pics of a handful of new package varieties.
Maybe in a couple years I will put out a new edition. |

I didn't bought too many books recently,
but yours I did.
And I will do that again.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. _________________ www.chipmuseum.com |

Only problem with selling chips is having to stand in line at the post office to ship them. I just don't like standing in line at the post office. I ended up working something out with a relative to take the chips to the post office for me.
I think I may put the rest of the copies of the last edition on EBAY along with the chips I will be auctioning.
That may have to hold everyone until the next edition. |

Sad you say you are old and think beyond your lifetime.
But happy you talk about selling over the next years.
That shows you are not THAT old, lol
Good luck to you with your auctions - and us:-)
Take care, Michael
btw so it makes still sense to send you images of unknown packages if we come across? _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

I own your last Guide and look forward to acquiring your next edition with all the updates.
I hope it will expand to cover up to the early Pentiums. _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

Yes, keep sending me images. I do file them and will eventually include them in the next edition. |

Darn that was one of the chips I wanted to see on the open block too.
Oh well I am sure it went to a nice home. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |
