| What cpu's are compatible with my Compaq CQ56-261EA? And is it possible to upgrade my cpu to a dual core at least? |

If you have V120/V140/V160 processor the you should be able to upgrade to any AMD Pxxx/Nxxx socket s1g4 CPU. You may even upgrade to X620/X640/X920/X940 models, although this may potentially cause overheating problems. Please see this page for some upgrade choices:

Dual-cores would be the best if you don't run many programs, and want maximum performance in single and dual-threaded applications. Get triple- or quad-core if you need to run many programs at a time, or if you need to run one CPU intensive multithreaded program.
