ECG = Sylvania, although I don't know if a third party manufactured it or they licensed the masks from somebody.

They sold replacement parts, which were usually re-branded processors from other manufacturers. NTE did same thing.

Sylvania sold ownership of the brand name to Philips in the mid-'80s ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylvania_Electric_Products#Brand_name ), so it depends on the date code.
ECG is their line of replacement components; everything has that same prefix, from ICs to transistors to vacuum tubes.
