I found these from CPU trades a while back. They seem to be some sort of gate arrays?! They do have the "prototypes" key words. What are they used for (in a PC?) and are they of any collectable values? Thanks!
Any way of dating them? I guess 9030 and 9020?! |

They're Motorola MC6805 based microcontrollers. Some collectors would be interested in them - some collect microcontrollers and others would want them because they are prototype chips. They aren't high-value chips though, I would say around $5 each.
The dates are 1990 week 30 and week 20. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Thanks debs! I'll keep them. I am not collecting microcontrollers (MCUs) but I AM an MCU user, mainly Atmel's ATMEGA328P (anyone know arduino?). I have tubes of them at home for projects like the following:

BTW, I've cut the first black foam sheet and put them inside a few National Instrument shipping boxes for my DIP sockets. I'm fairly happy with how many they can hold. Even the trims off the foam can be used to hold my MCUs when I ship them out to buyers so almost zero waste (I'll cut up your envelops for mail padding sometime). |

Thanks Neon! This little thing is very similar in capability to what I use now, except the storage amount is a bit less. They could have been used for certain communication chip or on some custom ISA cards but definitely more powerful than keyboard controls, I think. |
