I made a few cases for about 800 of my chips.
They are 2ftx3ft (they are actually on there sides for the pic)
I made them from 1x4 pine with 1/4" plywood backing.
The foam is 3/8" antistatic from the Static specialiats
The glass is 100mil plexiglass and fits into 1/8 inch slots cut into the frame.
One of the 3ft sides is hinged and latched for access. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Nice...
You plugged those chips into the pad? It seems that they can withstand the act of gravity |

Those look awesome but I have to ask? Are your chips in numerical order? And if the are, what do you do when you get a new chip that falls in between two that are side by side? I like the cases but wow that could be allot of work if you are not finished with your collection.
How much for all three

They are in order by type, room has been left for some expansion.
Not as much expansion as I had hoped cause as I was setting the chips I found another box of CPUs lol
oh I figure all three cases with chips for around $30,000 or so
PS: yah they are stuck in the foam and work rather nicely
I need do Socket 7 and LCC.PLCC chips next. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
