|
| Just purchased a S3 Trio 64V+ PCI dual video card. My system recognises it and I have now tried downloading the drivers to get it to work and reinserting my Win98 second edition CD but it keeps advising me that tihs file S3mm.dlll is missing. I have checked Microsofts website and its says that the drivers are contained on the Win98 disk, but they don't seem to be on mine... I have also trie dthe S£graphics.com website, downloaded the drivers.. but still no joy. Can anyone help me...? |

In case if you still can't find the file I extracted it form my Windows 98 CD:
http://www.shvets.com/images/S3MM.DLL
I will remove the file in one week.

| Thankyou Gennadiy.. it only upload 12% of the driver and then but it requested another 8 files (S3mm.drv, 8811_dig_ini, s3.vxd etc, but unfortunately Win98 cd doesn't have.. to make it simple.. would you be willing to copy all the drivers under the folder S3 9from your win98 cd) to a link for me and then I think that will work.. Thx Denise |

If you can't get the files from the link posted by Marcin let me know, and I'll post CAB file.

Marcin / Gennadiy
THANKYOU very much for all your help. After 3 days and a lot of downloading and fidling about, I finally have 2 screens working whoppee..
One more question. I am using an AGP card and a dual PCI to run my 2 screens and was actually trying to run 3 screens, but only 2 will boot up (AGP card boots up the first screen and then about 30 seconds later the PCI card boots up the second screen). The third screen is also attached to the PCI card and registers and acts like it is connected but refuses to boot up windows, it just shows the PCI card info at the top left hand corner of the screen. When I go into the control panel / display / settings it is not present as a third screen (only 2 are shown, even though 3 are connected), so I can't configure it. Any suggestions ?
Thx |

In my mind we can't plug 2 VGA into PCI IRQ interrupt stopping video transfer from second video card. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Your mind must be wrong - it must work, they will never do cards like this, if it cant work
STB MVP Pro 128 - 2x riva 128 on pci, fully working, i had 2 screens enabled in Win XP. There was made also version for 4 monitors - card has additional PCB. Info - http://www.niptron.de/htdocs/preise/grafikpreise/pro128.htm
There were made also cards with other chips like S3 Virge - http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Compaq_20153682
or Savage 4 for Pci http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Color_Graphics_Predator_Pro_4_20175237
Here is also review of 4 monitor version - http://sysopt.earthweb.com/reviews/colorgraphic/
Denise have you tried alone Trio card without agp card? Maybe 2nd output doesnt work, or you need some kind of modified drivers, they had always some kind of multimonitor software included - of course working only under WinNT OH now i remember - you said that you tried it under Windows 98 right? I think that they cant handle more than 2 monitors. You should try Win2k ok Win XP.
BTW: doesnt look your card like this
