|
|
A friend brought me two chips, desoldering from the destroyed Slot 1 processors. One was reportedly PII, second PIII. Plastic covers of both CPU's were destroyed and label illegible, boards broken. He managed to save only the chips. Is there any way to identify what kind of processors is it?

If your friend still has cache chips from the Pentium II/III cartridge he can probably use their speed to guess CPU speed, and, consequently, guess whether it's Pentium II or Pentium III.
