I found yesterday an ebay auction about 2 pcs Dec Alpha and a few goldcap Intel P1. Here is the discussion with the seller:
| Quote: | I would like to ask what are the sSpec numbers of the Pentium cpus?
Thanks!
Regards, |
| Quote: | How does an nspec number affect their scrap value? These are not
sold as working or for collection, they are scrap. |
| Quote: | I'm collecting cpus and it does not matter those are working or not. I'm prefer the missing cpus of course.
If I have those P1 then I need to resell or change with my collector friend. I don't have any Dec Alpha yet so those surely needs in my collection. |
| Quote: | After I got your email, I took a screwdriver and defaced both of the CPUs. This is to keep clever folks like yourself to doing an end un around our listing contract stipulations.
We know all of the gambits. We answer a question, and we've made a guarantee about the condition. They are complete and total scrap. |

some people are just ignorant and there is very little hope for them.
you are better off letting them live in their own little worlds
Actually it amazes me that people like that with such low IQ's even know how to use a computer let alone how to even respond to a message _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |

Yes, he's. I didn't like to tell the name, but you shouldn't bid those cpus. This idiot destroyed a few nice cpus. I'm shocked. |

Of course he may not have done what he said.
He may only be trying to put you off buying them. _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |

Perhaps you could send another question saying that collectors are quite happy to pay much more than scrap value for interesting cpus and he just halved the value of the chips he was selling. _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

I look at engraving on top edge see if A or PCPU
then work out speed by shape.. can only be 75 90 or 100
then look at shape of sSpec characters and get a short list
then go to engraving on bottom edge and check FPO
left is C427
L507
L502?
L507?
then check against my database and the PTL
to compare against what i think they are
have a look at gold top i posted in what did i buy thread
from the FPO and last character of the sSpec you can work out what it is _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Seeing as he is only selling them as BIN I doubt he would care.

He still should care... He has a lot of stuff for sale, and the faster he moves it the more profit he makes (I mean overall profit, not a profit for this specific lot).
