Been trying to figure out the difference in these type's of cpu's that have the same sSpec, but one has a dash (-) in the part number, the other has no dash.

Example, Intel -
A8050275 SX969
A80502-75 SX969

Anyone know what the difference is besides the obvious?
I'm trying to figure out from a collector's point of view, if I should be collecting the 2 different samples of each sSpec, or if only some of these cpu's have the 2 versions?

Thanx all.

It's the same chip, the difference is only in the part number. More information is here:

Intel had a habit of changing their part numbering style at random.
Hence why the earlier 486 Overdrives were labelled the same as the chip they were designed to replace only with ODP at the beginning. So if you had a 486SX-25 you got the ODP486SX-25 overdrive. If you had a DX-25 you got the ODP486DX-25. Then not long after, Intel changed their mind and labelled the chip as DX2ODP50 and marketed it as replaceing both the SX-25 and DX-25. Probably because people (like myself!) looked at the ODP486SX-25 and thought, that's not overdrive, its only second gear!
Other changes include the dash as you pointed out, and the 'Processor' marking on early socket 4 Pentiums. Neon_WA is the expert on such things, he has worked out almost the exact date Intel made these changes.
Pentium 4s also have several different styles. Large logo, small logo and no logo at all.

for Pentiums.. the dash was removed from part number around week 46 1995

change from TM to R was around week 28 1995

change from iComp to iComp2 was week 41 1996
