Intel Xeon E5-2600 QPI bus rate

Why does the CPU World site list the QPI bus rate as half of the Intel- specified bus rate?
Did Intel double the specified rate prior to the official announcement?
(I believe the same observation holds true for the other listed E5 series.)

If you look closely you will see that it's not a data rate, it's a frequency, and QPI data rate = QPI clock speed * 2.
