I just bought a new soket 478 3.0ghz pentium 4 to replace my intel celeron d 2.4ghz. When i took it out and put in the new cpu, it only gets as far as the bios when i turn the comp on. I got a P4S800 motherboard. what do i need to do????

I see on ASUS home page your mainboard support Pentium 4 3 GHz on all BIOS versions and PCB versions so there is problem. Please try update BIOS :

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P4S800 on old Celeron.

If this not help so clear bios by jumper or battery and configure all switches on mainbord use manual.

If that not help and on Celeron is all OK so you have damaged Pentium 4 3 GHz

Write if you not understand something Wink
