Hi all!
My latest find is MIPS R2000A chip without manufacturer's logo.
Package looks like LSI, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
IMHO it looks like a LSI-made CPU (font, character height and spacing).

Hi mate.. long time no see Laughing

Yes I would have to agree that LSI is the most likely manufacturer

but it could be from MIPS Computer Systems Inc. itself

I found this on Wikipedia:

"MIPS was a fabless semiconductor company, that is, they did not have the capability to fabricate integrated circuits. The chip set was initially fabricated for MIPS by Sierra Semiconductor and Toshiba. In December 1987, MIPS licensed Integrated Device Technology, LSI Logic, and Performance Semiconductor to also fabricate and market the R2000. Sierra and Toshiba continued to serve as foundries."
"In 1988, an improved version was introduced, the R2000A. It was composed of the R2000A and R2010A ICs. "

so we know for sure it wasn't MIPS

Well it looks like you have a Performance Semiconductor device. They were taken over by Pyramid in 2003. They probably still make a version of that part, just in a PGA.
