Uneven RAM Capacity..

I recently bought an Asus P5G41T-M LX motherboard with DDR3-1333mhz (OC) support. The manual recommends a maximum of 3Gb of RAM if I'll install a 32-bit windows OS, preferably Windows 7 32 bit. Since Win 7 requires a much larger system memory, but requires less than 3Gb, where does the excess memory go? What's the best way of installing a DIMM in this uneven configuration: The smaller capacity in DIMM-A, larger capacity in DIMM-B or vice versa? I'm confused coz there might be some performance issues behind this. Please help.. Thanks to any reply.

You mean bank A and bank B ? Buy minimum two sticks 2 GB each and 32 bit OS will use ~ 3 GB or 64 bit where full ammount will be used.

DDR3 are so cheap and there is no reason to buy 1 GB stick + 2 GB because you can loose dualchannel support.
