| We have a high end Xeon CPU with a capacitor that was broken off the bottom. We know of a shop that can repair it but they need to know the rating. Does anyone have a contact inside Intel that would be able to look at the schematics? Please send PM if you do. We will gladly compensate if it works out. |

| Chances are, if its just one, it'll work just fine. If you really had to (or wanted to replace), I would unsolder one and check the capacitance. The voltage should be the same as the core (but always get a cap rated at >20% of the voltage). |

Thanks but we're not even sure of the exact size. If we knew the exact part to get, it would be much easier.

If you could take one adjacent one off and measure it with a capacitance meter, you'd have an idea of the value. When he said "size", he was refering to the value. If you knew the value, voltage, and the physical size, one visit to Mouser Electronics would get you what you needed, guaranteed. |
