Been looking at all kinds of upgrades..... My big question is: Can I put a different motherboard into my HP Pavilion dv9060us laptop? One that has more than 2 RAM slots and will accept a modern CPU?
I see all kinds of limitations on what CPUs will work on the existing motherboard. Plus, my computer is maxed out at 2GB RAM with only 2 slots. So how easy or difficult is it to put in a completely different motherboard? Is it even possible? And if so, what are my options?
Thank you! |

All notebooks have max 2 banks for RAM modules. Changing motherboard in laptop is a somewhat difficult. Not worth to do that - will not fit in your actuall case because of different dimensions, ports location and others. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

I think this would be very difficult at best. Hp might use the exact same case for different MB`s.
If you could get a newer board to fit you would probably have to get a different processor and ram also.
I think it would cheaper to just buy a new laptop or a newer used one. |
