imho it does not work
mech sample is a dummy made to test all physical characteristics.
just to put it in a socket and set up a cooler... ect. _________________ My Want List: http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22729

Many mech samples actually do work. I have one that does. Some mechs are put through the complete manufacturing process and are more or less normal chips, just marked as mech. _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

Really? I was under the impression that mech samples were incomplete internally / didn't work. |

| For whoever has one of these chips would you be willing to test it, that is, to run a few benchmarks in DOS and maybe Windows? |

| I have an Opteron mechanical sample that works fine (although it's only 800 MHz). You could tell if there's anything in there by taking some resistance measurements between some random pins using a DMM in diode test mode. |
