From a completely different board (IBM 5291 Terminal Keyboard Schematic), I can identify...

U1 IBM 52 ESD
U2 NS 74154
U3 7404

from https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18987 U4 is an 8051 MPU but I can't confirm that anywhere else

I am thinking it is a keyboard controller of some kind..anybody recognize it or suspect the system it comes from?

Thanks

The IBM 5291 was a dumb terminal that was connected by a twinax cable and used in the IBM System 34's and System 36's as well. I believe there were two models of the 5291: 5291-001 and the 5291-002. If memory serves me correctly, the difference being the size of the screen on the terminal. I think that the keyboards were interchangeable between the -001 and the -002.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I didn't think this was from a 5291, but I really don't know. I was just using the schematic from a document on the 5291 to identify some of the chips. That schematic did help with a few chips but it definitely is not the schematic for this board.

I fear that I might not ever find out what it is from Smile

Seems to be capacitive coupling keyboard controller but not for standard PC model F or M. Judging by copyright date microcontroller is from MCS-48 family, most likely 8048.
