I find the whole method of comparing cpu specs, and especially benchmarks, a far more awkward task than it needs to be.
For example, say I am wanting to research the potential performance difference's between three cpu's.
I go online, identify CPU's that are of interest to me, take down the CPU part number for each CPU I am interested in, then I will search by part number on this site to just cross reference that the details on here match what are specified at the e-tailers, just for my personal peace of mind to ensure I am looking at the same CPU.
So now, I have all the part numbers of the CPU's I am interested in, I need to get them compared in the benchmarks - this is where things become awkward.
I find my first CPU by part number, then click on "Benchmarks". Now, I want to compare against other CPU's, so I click on "Select CPU or family", which brings me to the "Select CPU" page, which is just so much more time consuming than it needs to be. I have to go through selecting all the details of each cpu so I can add them one by one to the comparison list.
It would be much nicer, easier to understand and use (IMO), if, when you was on the main CPU page specification page, if there was just a "Add to benchmark list" and a "Add to compare list" which would allow you to easily build of a list of cpu's to compare / benchmark.
At the very least, if on the compare page, if you could just enter the part number without having to enter in all the other details, that would be a big time saver.
Any opinions? |

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, current method of selecting processors is slow if one wants to choose specific CPUs. Doing something like you describe (adding processors to a comparison/benchmark list while browsing the site) was already on my list of things to do. It's difficult to say when it will be done, but it's likely that I will have something ready by the end of this month.
