i have in my remain collection this 2 chips in white ceramic.....
i make a search and confused a bit.......
what is this 8089.....? an 8088 8086 peripheral or a single stand alone cpu-mcu chip?????

i think a was have buy before some years As a Mcu......

It's a coprocessor like a 8087. It adds instructions to the CPU but can't operate autonomously. 8089 is basically intelligent DMA controller. I know only two general purpose computers where it was used:

BTW, I used Apricot PC a lot in the 80's. It was very interesting machine, runs MS-DOS but was not IBM PC compatible.
