Does anyone know anything about the Rockwell 6511. It supposedly is based on the 6502. I couldn`t find any real info on it

I don`t have a picture right now of it.

There is also 1MHz R6511Q. 6511 supports 6502 instruction set, and has 4 new bit-operation instructions. The 6511Q/6511AQ microcontrollers are almost the same as 6501Q/6501AQ. The difference between them is that the 6511 can optionally divide external clock by 2, while the 6501 can optionally divide it by 4.

The F denotes that it is a RSC-FORTH based 6511

So preprogrammed onto the ROM is the FORTH language kernel

A = 2MHz

In 1986-7 Electronic Musician magazine published an article on making your own MIDI keyboard controller. It used the 6511 purportedly due to it's "additional I/O lines" over the 6502 I think.

I had a hard time sourcing a 6511 for some reason I can't remember, and out of desperation, I found out there was a Rockwell office in the Atlanta area. I went there and they guy brought me out two of them ina nice clear clamshell case and some antistatic foam. I still have one in there I never pulled it out. I ought to finish that project. I got two of everything. I was going to make a keyboard and a foot pedal one. But i still have one 6511 and 1 EPROM with the software, and one project circuit board.
