I am taking a part time Job as a Bus Driver icon_yikes Starting next Monday and for the first few weeks will be doing training and learning the routes until my passenger endorsement comes through.
So for those first few weeks it is full time and I will not be on here quite as much as I have been over the last 9 months or so.
I will still be logging on every day but for much less time.

Not sure at this time what sort of bus I will be driving.

The bus I am converting is a 1985 Nissan U2. It is 11 metres long, has air suspension, a 13 litre 6 cylinder donk in the back of ir, only just over 100k on the clock and drives like a dream.

I have owned it for about 15 years. I did a temporary conversion on it about 15 years ago when we still had kids at home, ie bunks for them etc, now have ripped it all out and starting again with a bit more luxury in mind for just the better half and me. Laughing

If you look at it from the rear it is definitely on the right side Laughing Laughing

Its not, in this special model you drive from the rear, so thats actually the back of the bus, and thus, the steering wheel is correct.

I hear neck problems were why this model was ended

Good to hear that you will not grab all best chips from Monday hahahaha

To be serious. Congratulations because of your new job. I have new job since May this year. 1 year of searching and now I'm producing electronic
equipment containing some Atmel stuff. Not well paid but near home and easy job Smile

Wrong, this model was ended because it only has one seat and so was unprofitable to operate Laughing Laughing Laughing

Actually this is a rare model. Before it was imported into New Zealand it was the NISSAN Truck Factory Works Bus in Japan which is why it had less than 100K of kilometres on the clock when I bought it.
Also it is Built reasonably low to the ground, only 2 steps up into it and it has a flat floor with no aisle so great for a mobile home Very Happy
