Nvidia 6600 GT128MB or the 6600 256MB newbie needs help

Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me out on this one. I have seen the Nvidia Geforce 6600gt 128MB 8xAGP priced at £112.00 (my max budget) and the 6600 256Mb 8xAGP at £79.99.

I'm afriad i'm a total novice when it comes to graphics cards the one I have in at the moment is only 64MB given to me by a friend as a replacement as my other card went kaput so most new games just laugh at it and don't run. i have a 2000 processor and 1GB of DDR in my PC if that means anything

Is there a great deal of difference in performance between the 2 as I would have though the card with more memory would have been better but the price tag would seem otherwise.
but as I said I am a novice when it comes to stuff like this. I want to play games such as half life 2, Doom 3, Area 51 etc. most of the new games that are out now.

if anybody could clear this up for me and point me in the right direction I would be most gratefull

Take 6600GT 128 MB is better than 6600 256 MB. I don't see better results with bigger RAM. VGA cards with 128 MB sometimes are faster than 256 MB or in worse time exactly same. Maybe in future we will see difference.
