|
|
Hi,
This CPU is from my Intel - The Journey Inside: The Computer Kit (circa) 1996 and was wondering if any collectors here can help me identify this CPU.
I have attached an image. Chip is completely unmarked on the top-side, and pictured is what you can see on the bottom. Please email me at magoo@vv.carleton.ca if you have any ideas.
Thanks!

early kits started with 486s.. most of the kits with a 486 contained a DX4 marked with Mech Sample on top.
This how ever is a DX2
By the die codes would of likely to have ended up an SX807 DX2-66 or an SX808 DX2-50 if they had finished testing & marking it
Intel was hit & miss with marking Mech Sample on unfinished chips
Later Intel kits used Pentiums... some were marked with Mech Sample & some were left blank like your 486
this kit is probably from 1994.. maybe early 1995
here are some other Intel kits and what they contained
