ok guys here it is......... now i work on cpu's and stuff like that and this is the first time i have come across this.... i'm hoping someone will be able to help me with this..... i have a laptop running xp pro, a desktop with the same both hooked up to a d link wireless router.... the laptop has a linksys wpc54g wireless card in it and i was able to get on the internet fine for about two weeks..... now the router was set up with the mac filter ssid broadcast disabled and wpa psk......... last night i tried to use the laptop on the wifi and i got nothing..... Shocked ... so i run through reinstall the driver, reinstall the card, and nothing..... i then go through and start shutting off functions on the router one by one and nothing...... finally i install linksys install software which install their wifi connection utility.... which surprisingly finds the connection.... i take it off only to see my xp wireless connection to say that its disconnected ???? but and heres the kicker..... although windows says that i have no connection.... and the when i run ipconfig it says that all media is disconnected i can still get on the internet!!!!! weird..... i go through and start enabling things on the router......... ssid disable...good.........mac address filter...... good.....wpa psk.....no internet....shoot!!!!.... well thats all i got....im at my wits end.... oh yeah ive done full scans of the system and all seems good, nothing out of the ordinary cept that...... any help appreciated......ps sorry for the long post! Let me guess: The router is a Netgear? I got a similar problem vice versa. My USB stick is a Netgear, router is 3rd party. All tools say "Everything fine", but I don' get traffic. This USB stick is the only Netgear product in the whole network. U.S. Robotics, MBO, D-Link, Linksys, Motorolla—no problems. But this f***ng Netgear, ****! @$§+!!!

Hello everyone,

I bought last few days USB Lan card from NetGear. Not work too Wink No traffic and makes me angry. I bought next USB Lan card from DLink and I wonder it will be free from errors.
