Yes, it's a fake. No spacing between letters, the first and second lines are not aligned, and poorly done data matrix, that doesn't match serial number. It's very likely that the original markings included only lot number, and the last 4 digits of the serial number were added later - the font is slightly different, and the spacing between characters is different.

the question is of course what was it faked FROM

27488 was used by: Athlon XP 2000+ - 3200+
Athlon XP-M (K7) 2400+ - 2800+

I think they didn't just remark slower processors into faster ones, they also remarked faulty faster processors into slower ones.
