| Hi! I'm a newbie in this site. I just want to ask the expert opinions of your readers regarding the cpu upgrade of the said board (Asrock 775i65G R2.0). I'm contemplating on a Core 2 Duo E6600 for this board but the website specify to adopt a 1066FSB CPU for external graphic card (by overclocking) and DDR400 CL-2.5 memory module (I also wanted to install an AGP card on this board), but the problem is that I have a Corsair Value Select VS1GB400C3 DDR SDRAM module with 3-3-3-8 timings. Now my question is: Can I manually set it to 2.5-3-3-8 timings so that I can avail the upgrade? I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing. Please help. Thanks! |

Your memory only shows to support 3-3-3-8 timings. You could force 2.5-3-3-8, but it may require a *slight* vDDR increase to keep it stable. I'd try forcing it at stock voltage and see if it's stable first. It's going to take some experimentation, since you're operating "outside the box".
Personally, i'd invest in a newer motherboard (something that natively supports 1066/1333FSB and PCIe) |
