Hello everyone,

I have an old motherboard that I want to bring to life, or at least make a noble attempt. It's a Biostar M7VKB and it's rated to run at 100 megahertz. I also have an Athlon 2000+ that has a speed/front side bus of 133 megahertz, or 266 megahertz effective speed.

My question is can I use the Athlon 2000+ with this motherboard? Will the processor work and run at the slower 100 megahertz speed? Or will it just not work?

If the Athlon 2000+ won't do the job, I'll hunt for a slower processor.

Thank you for your advice. Have an effervescent day, Anthony

Max AMD Athlon is 1400 Mhz with 100 Mhz FSB
Max AMD Duron is 950 MHz

You can't use Athlon XP 2000
