I feel I have tried everything and now I need help. The system will run fine for about 20 min or so. I am leaning towards display drivers because video games always cause a reboot. HELP!

1.5 GB DDR PC3200 RAM
60 GB Western Digital HD
600W ATX Power Supply

your cpu is overheating. buy some better thermal paste or a bigger heatsink.
or more cpu fans.
take the side panel off and aim a housefan into it, see if that helps.
also, clean any dust out of your heatsink.
its not video drivers, your video card is just heating up and bringing the temperature up 5-10 degrees, which pushes your cpu over the edge. |

| I had a similar problem with a number of PCs at work. The problem occured when trying to run Java applications using J2RE 4.0.2_1. Suddenly the PC started to reboot without any warning or error message. This only happened for PCs with the nVidia Quadro FX1400 video card. Our OS is Windows XP Pro with SP2. When upgrading the video driver to the latest version the problem disappeared. |

Is there a safe temp for athlon xp 3000+ cpu? I'm running my computer in failsafe mode and the system still reboots. BIOs says the cpu temp ranges from 57c to 59c. Help. _________________ Kevin |

Sometimes the Power Supply causes this.
Do you have another to try, also the lighter/cheaper PS's have oddities such as random reboots.
