Great! Thank You a lot! You have some really beautiful wafers there. Those R3000A, R4400 and SR71000 are also really interesting, so it's great to know you've got them also.
Unfortunately, looks like your old scanner can't see as much detail on the dies as exists in the other R3000A and R4000 die shots that I've found, but you're already getting close. I'm really looking forward to see some macro photographs of those beautiful wafers that should give us beautiful die shots once you get your macro photography setup working. Scanning works great for complete wafers and large dies, but for smaller dies the resolution isn't so high.
BTW, I've also got a 200 MHz NEC R4400 CPU, but so far I haven't been able to open its unusual round lid that doesn't have any solder visible and couldn't be opened with a heat gun. Does anyone have any ideas about how to open the lid so that I could take die shots? Could the lid just be pressed in place without any solder so that cooling the lid could open it?
Anyway, I'll try to take some more die shots tomorrow now that I've also got an Alpha EV5 and an Enhanced Am486DX4 opened. If all goes well I should have some more beautiful die shots in less than 24 hours. |
