hello everybody.
i own a Sony Vaio VGN-485FS (as in object) and I'd like to upgrade its Intel Pentium M740 CPU; this processor has a BGA479 socket. its "natural" upgrade would be the M780 but i found out that even the Core Duo T2700 has the same slot; so i'm asking, could the Core Duo be compatible as well? or there would be any problem? thanx.

You can't upgrade it if it's a BGA socket. BGA479 is not really a socket because processors in that package are soldered directly on the motherboard. Anyway, you may want to check if you have a BGA, or PGA version of this Pentium M chip.
