Do you know a way to remove enamel from a ceramic chip without causing damage to it's marking?

Edit: or ANY way to remove it?

Regars,
Slava

I tried a liquid to clean gold and silver necklaces.
I didn't put the whole chip in but used a small wire to put small drops on it.
After a lot of drops on the same enamel I could carefully rub it off with my finger nail.
This is half a year ago and the chip still looks fine.

But still I am too shy to use this method with valuable chips...
