It's gate array with 108k gates, not cpu.

Gate arrays are universal logic elements,
usually used in custom or experimental electronics,
or in any case when developing and using the ASIC is too expensive.

yup basically a large array of logic that can be programmed to do what you want it to do.

Extensively used in telecom equipment

Sadly, I missed the times when all eastern-german factories were randomly sold to scrappers Sad it was a whole industry they dumped.
