looks like the Q6600 is playing it just fine. recommendations for computer hardware should be taken with a grain of salt when looking through computer games. back in the day they were pretty accurate because cpus and graphics hardware didn't vary so much. but now they rate the game for certain hardware because of it's particular performance value. however many cpu's today can provide similar performance with out being near recommended specifications. do note that these recommendations are also for updated hardware because the game designers have updated hardware and assume everyone else does as well. just because it's not on the list, doesn't mean the hardware didn't make the cut. I had a Q6600 before i gave it to my brother. i played every new game to date when i had it. it will still play all games out just fine. i haven't had access to it to test crysis3 or tomb raider but it played crysis2 beautifully.

*edit*
for the cpu performance value. compare one you want or have to the recommended hardware. the passmark website will help you greatly in the aspect of seeing how good a piece of hardware is verses another. works with graphics as well. the higher point value should in most cases make the better hardware. (noting some programs are designed to perform better with a particular hardware.)
