I've never seen this processor before:

I'm surprised AMD marked the chip "C8080" at the time they were marking their 8080 processors with "AM9080". Maybe this is an exact clone of Intel 8080? Who knows...

I don't know exactly what the Intel versions look like, but is there any way it could have been an Intel piece stamped with the AMD logo considerably after the manufacture date? Or in other words, do you think it could be a fake?

It doesn't look like a fake - the markings on the ceramic and AMD logo are similar to other AMD AM9080 processors I have. It could be remarked Intel C8080, or I wish it was Smile

You can find pictures of Intel C8080 CPUs on these pages:

I have an AMD AM9080 that has both markings, is this something special/rare or just uncommon?

Double marking with AMD and Intel part numbers is common for AMD 8080 processors. Purple ceramic/Gold lid and pins package is much less common.
