I am wondering... could this chip be a Power6?

haha yah I dont know if thats possible. As the module determines the clock.

For example the chip may be able to run at 4.7GHz but IBM would stick it in any module 4.7 or less, Its like binning of parts, but without actually having to mark them LOL

There's different Power6 too, in the same package... don't think anyone has info on how to go further with identification yet.

There's POWER6 and POWER6+ in the same package and they are essentially indistinguishable from one another. There's probably tens of different FRU codes for different POWER6 modules and you cant really figure out the which is which and their properties by looking at them, they are as far as I know randomly generated. You have to make a list with known chips and compare to the list.

The list of confirmed POWER6 FRU codes that I have is this:
44M0195
44M0205
44M0206
46J1175
46J1237
46J2316

So on Power 7 there's one less pin in the bottom right corner?

Here is another POWER processor 53Y1694.
Maybe it is POWER7 because it looks like 2294LGA?
