Hi,
I'm currently dealing with one problem we have with an old embedded Intel 80486SX processor.

Is it possible that different S-Spec codes may have had different pinounts? I'm especially interested in 80486SX in 196 lead PQFP packages.

It's quite difficult to find a complete documentation for such an old processor.

Thanks
Karas

A different s-spec wouldn't have a different pinout.

The only issue may be the fact that some motherboards (especially embedded / industrial applications) only like certain steppings sometimes. Not often, but I've seen it before.

Cpuswe and mavroxur - thank you for your replies.

Yes, I think we're experiencing one of these "don't like this particular stepping" issues.

Thanks
