|
|
hello ive just upgraded my lapton cpu (toshiba l300) from a intel celron 900 @2.20ghz. to a
Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile p8600 2.4 GH.
my bios is right up to date and the chip fits in fine and is usable in this board. ( i checked before i bought it) anyway i put the cpu in an put it all back together and it powerd up but the screen wont come on. (just a black screen) . so ive put the old cpu back in and the laptop works as it should.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED WITH THIS THANKS! |

| The Intel GL960 chipset (which is what the Toshiba l300 uses) won't support chips with a 1066MHz FSB. The fastest chip you could actually use is a Core 2 Duo T9500, which is actually a 2.6GHz core chip with an 800MHz FSB. Just because the chip fits (same socket) doesn't mean it's always compatible. |

| Just back it down a few notches to a T9300, they're half the price, and only 100MHz slower core (hardly noticeable). Same dual core, 6M cache chip otherwise. |

| You might need to shop around. They're readily available on eBay for ~US$20 (about £10) all day long. I've bought several T9xxx series chips on ebay for upgrading laptops for resale. |

| Not a problem. Be sure to upgrade to the latest BIOS before upgrading, too. |
