Stumbled across these news today:
http://wccftech.com/via-28nm-c4650-x86-quad-core-processor-benchmarks/

I think the last quad core was released at several year ago. Though I was reading about this chip like two year ago or so (https://web.archive.org/web/20131207064524/http://www.h-online.com/newsticker/news/item/Processor-Whispers-About-Austin-powers-and-patents-1742927.html) but I though VIA gave up on designing new x86 CPUs because of lack of news (by article it was supposed to appear in mid of 2013) and switch to ARM designs in their embedded boards department.
